New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham is not only one of the talented men on the field, but also on social media. James Neesham keeps the fans entertained by coming up with some hilarious banter with other cricketers. Meanwhile, the seam-bowling all-rounder, who last played international cricket in March 2021, revealed his decision-making mantra on Twitter.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who has hosted a plethora of cricketers like Muttiah Muralitharan, Inzamam-Ul-Haq, and Dinesh Karthik in his Youtube channel, proceeded to host James Neesham. The 30-year old is one of the active cricketers on social media and has over 267 thousand followers.

James Neesham admits that plenty of decision-making goes into what can get the cricketers in trouble before posting or replying to anything on social media. The Auckland-born all-rounder further said that he also posts anything, keeping in mind whether it would provoke a call from captain Kane Williamson or head coach Gary Stead.

“I think there’s a lot of decision-making required to know what reply will get you into trouble or what will be fine. I think that’s the main decision I make before replying. I just imagine, you know, Kane or Gary Stead or someone else reading this, whether they are going to pick up their phone or call me the next day or will they be just like ‘Oh, there’s Jimmy,” Neesham told Ravi Ashwin on DRS with Aish.

James Neesham reveals why most of his replies are to Indians:

James Neesham further claimed that most of his replies are to Indian fans because Indians make up for majority of his followers. Neesham also admitted to a lack of understanding from a few responses, while he replies to more Kiwis statistically than the followers he has.

“Well I mean, first of all, it’s just numbers. I respond to a lot of Indians because, I think out of my couple of hundred thousand followers, 150,000 are Indians. So, most of the responses I do, tend to be from Indian people. I don’t understand any language which makes quite a few responses, a little bit too difficult to reply to. Proportionately, I think I reply to more New Zealanders statistically than I have followers… We’ll see I’ll probably add 6,000 New Zealand followers and 190,000 from the sub-continent. So, yeah, keeping their numbers up is great,” he added.
