The competition in Indian cricket is immense now and it will be difficult for new players to break into the Indian team with very few T20 internationals left before the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The selectors decided to give chances in the England series to the players who performed really well in the last IPL and it will be interesting to see if they will be given a chance to play.
Varun Chakravarthy has been the unluckiest of all them as he hasn’t been able to match the international fitness standards and twice has missed out after being named in the squad. At present, the intensity for the Indian spots is very high and it might come down to the smallest of margins to be left out of the squad for the T20 Worldcup. Here are 5 Indian Players who might not play in the T20 World Cup this year.
5 Indian Players Who Might Not Play The T20 World Cup This Year:
Navdeep Saini had an impressive start to his international cricket and was touted to be the next big thing in the Indian fast bowling setup. However he has fallen off the radar in recent times, and also his pace has started dipping. He played in the recent ODI series against Australia but was very expensive in the first two games and was dropped for the third ODI.
He did not have the best of IPLs this year for the RCB and wasn’t effective enough in the wickets column. He has the capability to deliver the goods but at the moment, he is in behind the race from Natarajan, Thakur, or a Deepak Chahar who might get the nod ahead of him for the T20 Worldcup if he doesn’t feature in the remaining T20s against England.
