Play as much as possible: Bumrah

Batting first, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul helped India to post a challenging total at the end of 50 overs. Mustafizur Rahman brought back Bangladesh in the game with a fifer as MS Dhoni once again struggled to score quick runs as India managed to post 314 runs. Bangladesh started the chase very well with the top-order batters getting runs, but India slowly crawled back with Hardik Pandya picking a few wickets before Jasprit Bumrah cleaned off the tail.

The top-ranked ODI bowler has been outstanding for India in this World Cup so far claiming 14 wickets from six innings. Besides, he has been economical and looked unplayable in the death overs. Jasprit Bumrah has been playing cricket throughout the year which raised calls from certain sections to rest him for the Sri Lanka game ahead of the most important semifinal match. But Bumrah is not keen to take any break and said that he wants to play as much as possible in his first World Cup.

“This is my first World Cup so I’d like to play as many games as possible… The more matches you play, the more you enjoy,” Bumrah said at the post-match press conference.

Furthermore, Jasprit Bumrah added he focuses on keeping things simple and do what the team wants him to do. He also stated that he wants to concentrate on the process and run after success in the long run.

“I try to keep things simple. Reading and analysing the wicket as soon as possible is important. Sometimes you run after wickets, but I focus on team goals – what the team wants me to do right now. Not chasing success, I want to focus on my process. If I do that, eventually everything gets sorted out,” he concluded.
