Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist has picked his four semi-finalists for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. Gilchrist has backed India, Pakistan, Australia, and England to make the last four.

The former Australian wicketkeeper-batter in his recent interaction with PTI spoke about the Indian team and their recent Asia Cup 2023 title win. He said that the Indian team will be buoyant after their Asia Cup win.

“I think India will be buoyant (for World Cup 2023) after the Asia Cup and that was a dominant performance there, in that final,” said Gilchrist.

He also spoke about a few other players and analyzed India’s squad for the World Cup based on a few other parameters. Gilchrist further said that KL Rahul coming back to form is a good sign for the Indian team while Ishan Kishan showed what he can do in the middle-order.

“When KL Rahul was out due to his injury, Ishan Kishan took the opportunity and played really well. That’s a wonderful case of just taking an opportunity to be positive. Along with that, there’s Rishabh Pant who’s clearly not going to be ready for the World Cup and we hope his recovery continues,” Gilchrist said further.
