Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib has found himself in the middle of controversy after the Asia Cup 2023. The fast bowler made some comments on social media that criticised the working women, which created havoc on social media.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib recently made his debut for Bangladesh in ODIs against India in the Asia Cup 2023. He had an impressive debut as he bowled staggeringly well and even removed Rohit Sharma for the duck. He achieved lots of praise for his heroics.

But now all of those have turned into disarray as he has been at the receiving end of heavy skewering from people across the globe for his comments on social media related to women.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib’s comments on Facebook last year had gone viral. He criticized working women and had stated:

“If the wife works, the husband’s rights are not ensured. If the wife works, the child’s rights are not ensured. If the wife works, her elegance is damaged. If the wife works, the family is ruined. If the works, the veil is ruined. If the wife works, society is ruined.”

He also recently engaged in a social media altercation with one woman journalist related to his comments. Tanzim Hasan Sakib warned men that their sons would not have a ”modest” mother if they married “a woman who is accustomed to free mixing with her male friends in a university.” This didn’t go well with the journo, who pointed out that the Bangladesh team jerseys were made in factories mostly staffed by women.
