The New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor had recently mentioned that he was jealous of the Australian spinner Nathan Lyon on getting a signed shirt from Rahane on his 100th Test. The day one of the World Test Championship finals was called off after rain showed up consistently and the reserve day will be operated in need.

The conditions have become really hard for the batsmen and the captain who wins the toss will be looking to bowl first for sure to have an advantage over the opponents. The weather forecast is not so good at Southampton again on the second day for play to take place and the groundsmen have been working hard to get the water dried in time.

Ross Taylor Opens Up On The 100th Test Incident

Ross Taylor played his 100th test against India in the two-match test series in 2020. He wasn’t offered a signed shirt by the Indian captain Virat Kohli while the stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane presented a signed shirt to Nathan Lyon on his 100th test which went really well among the people. Taylor mentioned hilariously that he was bit jealous of Nathan Lyon for getting the shirt while watching the game.

I played India in my 100th Test last year, and I didn’t get a shirt. I’m a bit jealous of Nathan. We played a couple of series before, and I’m watching the game and I’m watching him (Lyon) getting a shirt and I’m like ‘Aaah, okay!’,” Ross Taylor said to the Grade Cricketer on the incident.

Ross Taylor Will Be Key To New Zealand’s Success

The New Zealand team despite having a very strong side has never won an ICC trophy which is very surprising and they will be keen to get their hands on the trophy this time around. Ross Taylor is the highest score for the Kiwis in ODI and Test cricket and he holds an important position in the middle order at number four. He keeps the scoreboard ticking and was in fine touch in the tests against England.

Taylor averages more than 45 in ODI and tests and the veteran batsman has been a consistent player in the middle order for a long time now.
