After India’s incredible victory against England by 151 runs at Lord’s, KL Rahul was adjudged player of the match. However, former Indian cricket Aakash Chopra has picked Mohammed Siraj as his player of the match. The right-arm pacer picked 4 wickets each in both the innings, accounting for 8 wickets out of the 20 English batsmen during the match.

Siraj, who was playing just his 7th Test match, dismissed 4 of the last 5 England batsmen in the 2nd innings. He also picked the last two wickets of the game, as India restricted England to just 120 all-out. Jos Buttler, who had remained on strike at the end to keep the draw hopes alive for England, also became a victim of Siraj’s exceptional bowling.

In My opinion, The Player Of The Match Is Mohammed Siraj: Aakash Chopra

While speaking about Mohammed Siraj’s bowling performance on YouTube, Aakash Chopra said that he thinks that Siraj was the actual player of the match in his opinion.

“KL Rahul got the Man of the Match award but I have picked Mohammed Siraj. I know centuries are important, they protect you, but bowlers win you the match because you need to take twenty wickets. So in my opinion, the Player of the Match is Mohammed Siraj.”

“This bowler is making things happen. He has got this happy knack of picking wickets. He is putting his heart and soul into it. Whenever he comes running in, it seems the lad will take wickets. It was just his 7th Test but it seemed like he has been playing for 70 Tests,” Chopra further said while applauding the Indian pacer, Chopra further added.
