Indian Cricket Team is all set to clash against Australia on 9th February (Thursday) for the 1st Test Match at Nagpur. Australia surprisingly hasn’t won Test Series in India since 2004. Last time in 2017, the Aussies couldn’t capitalize on the 1-0 lead where they lost the Test Series by 1-2.

India has been bolstered by the return of Ravindra Jadeja who can also bat in the middle order if the situation demands. The left-handed batter has got a pretty good record against the Aussies. In 2017, he was the one who provided crucial breakthroughs to the team and was the go-to bowler for the skipper.

David Warner was having an interaction with the media and was asked about the upcoming India Test Series.

“Really looking forward to it…it’s always a hard graph and the one thing I’m looking forward to is applying myself against the best spinners of the world. Being a part of that last Ashes was fantastic but to go to India and beat them in India…that’s the toughest challenge in Test cricket for us,” said David Warner.

Uphill Challenge for India

The Men in Blue has been dealt with a huge blow as Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the 1st Test match. The right-handed batter in the last couple of years has been the backbone of the Indian Cricket Team. There are chances that Suryakumar Yadav could be handed his Test debut as the batter can take the game away from the opposition pretty quickly.

The management has a conundrum of whether to pick Jaydev Unadkat or not as the team already has got Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj & Mohammed Shami present in the team. It looks unlikely that Unadkat would get to play in the 1st Test match as the opening Test Match is considered to be quite a pivotal one.
