Jasprit Bumrah Doubtful for Australia ODI Series

It is understood that Bumrah won’t be rushed back to competitive cricket. The speedster wasn’t named in the first 2 Test Matches against Australia. There are reports that state that the pacer won’t feature in Australia ODI Series commencing on 17 March. This ODI Series is quite pivotal as it would serve as a stepping stone for ODI WC 2023

Concerns for India

Jasprit Bumrah hasn’t played any competitive cricket since September. He still hasn’t recovered from stress fracture. It owuld be interesting to see whether Bumrah would be available for IPL 2023. BCCI has issued strict guidelines that NCA & IPL franchises would work in tandem to manage the work-load of players.

It looks likely that India would qualify for the final of World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) final where they have to win another 2 Test Matches out of the 3 remaining. The WTC final is scheduled on 7th June where potentially the speedster would be named in the squad. It won’t be a surprise if Bumrah doesn’t play the entire tournament as this time we are going to see a lot of double headers and as we all know that BCCI is set to bring back home & away venues which would be quite hectic for the speedster.
