IND vs IRE 2nd T20I, Match Preview–2023

Jasprit Bumrah made a winning start to his T20I captaincy career. He took two wickets in his very first over on his international comeback and looked fit. The Indian bowling performance especially was a remarkable one after the senior Indian bowlers took a lot of pounding in the T20I series against the West Indies.

The BCCI selectors have named a young side led by Jasprit Bumrah who is making a comeback to international cricket. Along with him, Prasidh Krishna is also making a comeback after a long injury layoff. Rinku Singh earned his maiden international call-up. The likes of Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar are making a comeback into the team in the series.

The management named the strongest XI from the squad that they picked for the series. Rinku and Prasidh made their T20I debuts in the previous game and it is expected that the same side will play the IND vs IRE second T20I unless any forced changes are made.

Paul Stirling will lead Ireland. He has taken over the T20I captaincy from Andrew Balbirnie. Harry Tector along with Stirling and Balbirnie form the batting core. Among the bowlers, Josh Little with his recent IPL experience will be the bowler to watch out for. Along with him, Barry McCarthy, Mark Adair, and Craig Young form the bowling group.

The batting group led by skipper Stirling needs to come up with a better performance in the second T20I. None of their top-order batters scored above 20 before the resistance came from Curtis Campher (39) and Barry McCarthy (51*) batting at number eight. Their batters need to set up the game for their bowlers. Teams irrespective of the toss will prefer chasing.
