The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials were reportedly displeased after star batter Virat Kohli’s Instagram post announcing his successful completion of the Yo-Yo test. The Indian team management asked players not to share their fitness scores on social media platforms.
The Indian cricket team players are currently undergoing a preparatory camp in Alur, Bengaluru, as they lead up to the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup. The players were undergoing fitness tests at the camp in preparation for both the continental tournament and the 2023 ODI World Cup.
BCCI Asks Indian Players Not To Post Yo-Yo Test Results
As per The Indian Express, BCCI officials were dissatisfied with Virat Kohli’s social media post revealing a fitness test score, considering such information confidential. The Indian team management issued a strict guideline, instructing players not to share their yo-yo test scores on social media.
“Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying in the report.
On Thursday, August 24, Virat Kohli shared on Instagram his successful completion of the Yo-Yo test with a score of 17.2. In an Instagram story, Kohli posted a photo of him sitting on the ground, wearing a wide smile, with the caption “between the dreaded cones.”
“The happiness of finishing the yo-yo test between the dreaded cones,” he captioned it.
