Former Pakistan player, Waqar Younis took a dig at Virat Kohli after he was dismissed in the 7th over by Shaheen Afridi in India vs Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023 on Saturday (September 2nd) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

While speaking during commentary, Younis said that Virat Kohli can keep watching the reply of the dismissal but he is already out.

“You can watch it on replay, but you’re gone Virat,” Waqar Younis said on Virat Kohli.

In the third ball of the sixth ball, Shaheen Afridi removed Virat Kohli for four runs in the first inning of the most anticipated match of the tournament.

The young Pakistani bowler, Shaheen Afridi delivered a short-length ball outside the off, Kohli tried to smash the ball through the outside but failed and got an inside edge which deflected and hit the stumps.

However, Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya made a solid partnership to take the Men in Blues in a better position after India lost a few early wickets, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

While speaking during the toss, Rohit Sharma said that every player was up for the yo-yo test in Bengaluru before the start of the Asia Cup 2023.

“We are going to bat first. There is a bit of weather around, but can’t think much about it. Got to play good cricket, you need to embrace the challenge, embrace the situation. We had some time off after the West Indies series.

“Everyone was up for those drills and challenges in Bangalore. Let’s see what we can achieve in this tournament.

“It’s a quality tournament with quality oppositions. At the end of the day, we need to see what we can achieve as a team. Iyer is back, Bumrah is back and we have three seamers. Got two spinners – Kuldeep and Jadeja,” Rohit Sharma said.
