The batter got ample support from Axar Patel who he scored a quickfire knock of 31 runs in 20 balls where he smashed  3 fours and 1 six. India posted a target of 163 runs for the island nation.

Shivam Mavi Cleans Up Pathum Nissanka

Sri Lanka started their innings cautiously. Surprisingly Hardik Pandya bowled the 1st over and then gave the ball to the debutant Shivam Mavi. The speedster was taken to the boundary on the 2nd & 3rd ball by Kusal Mendis. On the last ball of the over, Shivam Mavi bowled an in-swinger and beat Pathum Nissanka and thrashed his stumps. At that time Sri Lanka’s score was 12-1.

Crucial Period for Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan batters would be aware of the fact that they need to play out the new ball as the pacers are getting a lot of help. Chasing 163 is not a big task for the island nation as they have got a long batting line up present.  It would be interesting to see how Sri Lanka play against spin as India has got the services of Chahal.
