Opening the proceedings with the bat will be Liton Das. An experienced campaigner, Liton has played 22 T20Is so far in which he has scored 452 runs at 20.54. The right-handed batsman will have the responsibility to provide a solid start to the team and help the visitors scale big totals.

Mohammad Naim –

Uncapped Mohammad Naim, who came in place of Tamim Iqbal, might be handed his debut cap and asked to open with Liton Das. In seven T20s he has played so far, the left-handed batsman has scored 90 runs at 22.50.

In Shakib’s absence, Bangladesh will need a solid batsman to bat at number three and Rahim could be promoted to bat at number three. Since his promotion, Shakib had been exceptional with the bat at number three and his absence has left the team in all sorts of trouble.

A surprise pick for captaincy, Mahmudullah will provide solidity in the middle-order. He will also have the additional duty to lead the team. It was expected that he might be named as Test captain as he led Bangladesh in that format but he was given the duty to lead them in T20Is.

Making his comeback into the T20I side, Sarkar will provide back-up to the top and the middle-order batsman by coming it at number five. He was dropped from the T20I squad team during the tri-series against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe but made a comeback for the India tour.

The 20-year-old young all-rounder will be on his first tour to India and will have the chance to become the spin-bowling all-rounder that Bangladesh want at this point. In five T20Is, so far he has scored 77 runs and has scalped three wickets.

For once, Hossain also found himself running in the race to become Bangladesh’s T20I captain. At the age of 23, he has become one of the most dependable all-rounders for Bangladesh and will have to step up in the absence of Shakib.

He wasn’t a part of the squad originally and was included after Bangladesh named a new team. Taijul, who is a newcomer in T20Is, has a golden opportunity to show his skills and push his case for the T20 World Cup. Making his T20I debut against Zimbabwe during the tri-series, he got a wicket off his first ball in this format.

The leader of Bangladesh’s pace attack, Rahman will test Indian openers with his swing early on and with his slower deliveries later in the innings. Bangladesh’s success heavily depends on Rahman.

The right-arm pacer should partner Rahman in the pace department. In 14 T20Is so far, he has scalped 12 wickets. He played two matches during the tri-series, in which he scalped four wickets.
