From Friday (5th February) morning, the hosts India will fight against the visitors England in the opening match of the four-match Test series at MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk, Chennai). This Test series is a part of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship.

It will be the first international cricket match in India since January 2020 and first Test match in India since November 2019.

Meanwhile, India and England will face each other for the first time in international cricket since their meeting in the League stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Birmingham on 30th June 2019. On the other hand, last time, they met in Test cricket at The Oval in September 2018.
