India vs England 2021, 3rd T20I: England’s Predicted XI
Opener Jason Roy is currently in great form in T20 cricket. In both the matches of this series, Roy just missed his half-centuries as he scored 49 and 46 runs respectively. In the last five T20s, Roy crossed the 40 runs mark four times, including scoring a half-century.
Jos Buttler (wk)
Despite scoring a golden duck in the last game, the wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler is currently in good touch with the bat. However, he needs to play big knocks to secure his spot in the England squad, where there are huge fighting for many spots.
The top-ranked T20I batsman Dawid Malan is another good T20I batsman who likes to perform consistently. But since the BBL 2020/21, Malan has struggled to maintain his consistency to convert into the big T20 scores.
Jonny Bairstow had a very tough time during the recently concluded Test series against the hosts India where he scored three ducks in four innings. In this T20I series, while he has played both the first two games, his scores in those matches were 26 not out and 20 runs. To find back his true confidence, Bairstow will have to play some strong knocks in the upcoming matches.
Eoin Morgan (C)
Captain Eoin Morgan is a very crucial name in the present England limited-overs sides who adequately play both the crucial roles, as a skipper and as a batsman. The upcoming T20I will be his 100th T20I match and Morgan will definitely try to make this game completely memorable.
All-rounder Ben Stokes is another very crucial name in the present England cricket team. He is desperate to give his best performances in this tough away tour where he is facing one of the toughest challenges. After his some fighting performances in the recently concluded Test series in this tour, Stokes has taken one wicket in two T20Is while he scored 24 runs in the last game.
If Mark Wood misses the upcoming match due to his fitness issue, Moeen Ali can get an opportunity. While the Motera tracks are majorly slow, the spin-bowling all-rounder Moeen can play some useful roles.
In the last game, Sam Curran dismissed KL Rahul in the first over of the chasing and finished the game with bowling figures of 4-0-22-1. Apart from his wicket-taking ability, his big-hitting ability as a lower-order batsman also helps his team in every format.
Jofra Archer won the Player of the Match award in the first match of this T20I series due to his impressive bowling performance. In that game, the fast bowler had bowling figures of 4-1-23-3. Though he was wicketless in the last T20I, Archer doesn’t face the bad patch for a long time.
England pacer Chris Jordan is currently one of the finest bowlers in the T20I death overs as he is very consistent in this special role. In both the T20Is of this series, Jordan took one wicket each. But he can play more big roles for the England cricket team.
Leg-spinner Adil Rashid is a consistent performer for his limited-overs national sides. In the opening match of this series, Rashid dismissed Virat Kohli for a duck. In the second T20I, while he was a little expensive, he got the wicket of Ishan Kishan.
