Indian National Cricket team skipper Virat Kohli s ecstatic with another clinical performance as they beat New Zealand by seven wickets to seal the series. Meanwhile, this is thier first-ever series win in the land of Kiwis since 2009.

The Indian is on a roll now making it a habit of winning matches with ease. On Monday, they were at their business once again routing the Kiwi out of the series with two games still to play. Chasing a modest total of 244 runs, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan got off to a steady start keeping the New Zealand bowlers at bay. Boundaries have come at will for Shikhar Dhawan, who has accumulated five fours in the first five overs, with Bracewell proving to be expensive.

On the other hand, Rohit has one four to his name as India moves to 31 for 0. However, Dhawan departed after a quickfire 28 edging Trent Boult to the safe hands of Ross Taylor. Since then Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma stitched a 113-run stand to guide India to the winning run. However, New Zealand saw some chance when they dismissed Rohit Shama in quick succession. But Amabati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik took India home with seven wickets in hand.

Previously, New Zealand openers once again faltered after Kane Williamson opted to bat first. They lost three wickets within 59 runs with the new ball bowlers making a habit of providing early breakthroughs. But a century-plus stand for the fourth wicket helped them post a decent total before the Indian bowlers once again ran through the lower order.

An excited Virat Kohli took to Twitter to post pictures from the recently-concluded game. He also spoke highly of the team effort they have been putting in splendidly for quite some time now.

Happy with the clinical performance. Great team effort,” Virat Kohli tweeted.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have decided to rest Virat Kohli from the last two ODIs and the T20Is to follow. The selectors have brilliantly managed his workload in the previous one year to keep him injury free. And now with the ICC World Cup in May looming ahead, the management will want a fresh Kohli to lead the side in England and Wales.

Rohit Sharma will lead the side in place of regular skipper Virat Kohli. The fourth and the penultimate match of the series is on January 31 (Thursday) at Hamilton.
