The WTC final between India and New Zealand will culminate the ICC World Test Championship which has been played for over two years. These two teams met once during the qualification phase in which New Zealand hosted India for a 2-match Test series which they won by 2-0. Winning the championship would mean that either Virat Kohli or Kane Williamson will be the leader of the best Test team in the world.Â
The WTC final between India and New Zealand is a rematch in many ways of the ICC World Cup 2019 semifinal. Both India and New Zealand played some fantastic cricket to get to the final. New Zealand beat teams like India, West Indies, and Pakistan to reach the finals. India, on the other hand, beat teams like Australia and England after losing to the Kiwis to kickstart their World Test Championship campaign.Â
The Kiwis have had a better idea of the playing conditions having played two Tests against England. They won the Test series having won the second of the two Tests at Edgbaston. Meanwhile, the Indian players played an intra-squad match ahead of the WTC final.Â
