The Women’s Asia Cup 2022 continues with India women facing Bangladesh women in match 15 of the tournament. India and Pakistan are on six points from four games each. Bangladesh have won two out of their three matches and are placed third on the table with four points. The final of the tournament will be played on October 15. The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium will host the match between IND W and BAN W. 

India lost to their arch-rivals in a low-scoring thriller on October 7. Chasing 138 to win, India could reach only as far as 124 and lost the game by 13 runs. This was India’s first loss of this Asia Cup campaign. 

“I think in the middle we were trying to give other batters a chance. That cost us today. It was a chaseable target. In the middle overs, we were not able to rotate the strike. For me it is important that whoever is new to the side, they get enough games before the WC. It was a great oppurtunity for others. We don’t take any team lightly. It is part of the game. They played good cricket and deserved to win. We need to work on areas and be strong” said skipper Harmanpreet Kaur after the loss. 

Bangladesh also lost to Pakistan in their second match of the campaign. The side from Bangladesh was a no-match for the Pakistan team. Bangladesh could only score 70 which was chased down within 13 overs by Pakistan. In their previous game, they defeated Malaysia by 88 runs.
