India women take on Bangladesh women in match 15 of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 in Sylhet on Saturday. India have two games remaining while Bangladesh three. The final will be played on October 15. All the matches will be played in Sylhet.
India lost to Pakistan in their previous match and thus this game becomes a must-win for them in many ways. India’s loss against Pakistan was their first loss of this Asia Cup campaign.
“I think in the middle we were trying to give other batters a chance. That cost us today. It was a chaseable target. In the middle overs, we were not able to rotate the strike. For me it is important that whoever is new to the side, they get enough games before the WC. It was a great oppurtunity for others. We don’t take any team lightly. It is part of the game. They played good cricket and deserved to win. We need to work on areas and be strong” said Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.
For Pakistan, Nida Dar came up with an all-round performance to help her side win. She scored an unbeaten 56 with the bat and then two wickets as India were bowled out for 124 chasing 138 to win. Pakistan skipper Bisma Mahroof hailed Nida’s performance in the match.
“Nida batted and bowled really well. We just wanted to make a partnership. Nida played a crucial innings and helped us get to a good total. We were looking for gaps. We didn’t assess the conditions really well. We all executed the plans well today” she said.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, won their last game against Malaysia by 88 runs. They have won two of their three games. The loss came against Pakistan.
