Chennai Super Kings will play their first match in IPL 2021 against Delhi Capitals on April 10, 2021, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Due to the absence of Suresh Raina and Dwayne Bravo in IPL 2020, CSK had a troublesome season last year. Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore match in IPL 2019 witnessed a nail-biting final over. While batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 161/7. In reply, all of the CSK players failed to perform except MS Dhoni who came out to be a one-man army in the match. Chennai Super Kings were railing at 28-4 when MS Dhoni came to the crease. He kept his wicket and played with patience while others kept on losing their wickets.

In the last over, CSK needed 26 runs with MS Dhoni on strike. The CSK skipper Dhoni smashed bowler Umesh Yadav for 3 sixes and 1 four in the over. On the last ball, MS Dhoni needed to score 2 runs to win. However, he missed the ball which went directly into wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel’s hand. As MS Dhoni tried to take a run, Patel hit the stumps and the non-striker Shardul Thakur got out. After the nail-biting final over, RCB managed to win by just 1 run in the end.
