The son of the ‘God of Cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar has sent his name for the registrations for the upcoming IPL 2021 auction. The IPL 2021 auction is all set to take place on February 18 at Chennai and a total of 1097 players, 814 from India and 283 from overseas, registered for the auction by the deadline of February 4.
Among other notable stars who have sent in their names for registration is S Sreesanth. Sreesanth last played an IPL game in the 2013 season and was then banned for being involved in the infamous spot-fixing scandal. The ban on him was uplifted last year and the pacer was recently seen in action in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Arjun Tendulkar, S Sreesanth, Cheteshwar Pujara Among Notable Stars To Send Their Name For IPL 2021 Auction
Sreesanth has set his base price at INR 75 lakh ($103,000 approx.). Arjun, a left-arm pacer with decent batting abilities, has enlisted for a base price of Rs 20 lakh. He represented Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali last month and has been training with Mumbai Indians for a few years. Hanuma Vihari (Rs 1 crore) and Cheteshwar Pujara (Rs 50 lakh) too, have registered.
Among others, Aaron Finch, Umesh Yadav, Hanuma Vihari, Marnus Labuschagne, and Sheldon Cottrell have all listed their base prices at INR 1 crore ($137,000 approx.). Among the big names who have registered for the IPL 2021 auction are Dawid Malan, Shakib-al-Hasan, and Tom Banton.
IPL 2021 Auction All Set To Take Place On February 18 At Chennai
The auction for IPL 2021 is all set to take place on February 18 in Chennai. This will not be a mega auction as the BCCI has decided to postpone the mega auction for IPL 2022. The BCCI has also hinted that a full-fledged IPL 2021 can take place in India itself and that the venue will not be changed this year.
A total of 1097 players, 814 from India and 283 from overseas, registered for the auction by the deadline of February 4. The IPL 2021 is all set to take place from the first week of April after the India-England series.
