Australian pace bowler Nathan Ellis said that he is excited to speak to Indian pace bowler Mohammed Shami in Punjab Kings’ camp.
Ellis, who became the first male cricketer to secure a T20I hat-trick on his debut against Bangladesh last month, was signed by Punjab Kings for the second phase of IPL 2021.

Ellis was signed after Australian duo Riley Meredith and Jhye Richardson pulled out of the UAE leg of IPL 2021.
Ellis said that Shami is one of his favourite cricketer and he is looking forward to interact with him.
“I am really, really excited about talking to Mohammed Shami. I haven’t spoken to him yet but he’s been one of my favourite cricketers,” Ellis told news agency PTI.

The 26-year-old Tasmania bowler was one of the three reserved players named in Australia’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
Ellis mentioned that it was his dream of playing in the IPL and thanked for the opportunity he got to play for Australia against Bangladesh.
“Playing in IPL is something that I’ve dreamt about,” Nathan Ellis said.
“It is one of those of things you sort of dream about growing up but you know it’s never a reality and it’s never like you’ve definitely going to do it. So to be able to get on that Australia tour was a dream come true,” he added.
Ellis has picked 32 wickets for Hobart Hurricanes from 29 matches at an economy rate of 8.13 in the Big Bash League.
Punjab Kings are positioned sixth on the points table, having won three out of their eight games, They will aim to win all of their remaining fixtures to book their berth in the playoffs.
Punjab Kings will meet Rajasthan Royals in the second phase of IPL 2021 on September 21 at the Dubai International Stadium.
