Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will meet Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 12th match of the IPL 2021 this Monday (19th April) night at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
Despite scoring 188 runs in their first game of this IPL 2021, CSK failed to defend that total against Delhi Capitals as their opponents beat them by seven wickets. But in their second match of this IPL 14, CSK thrashed Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six wickets after restricting their oppositions to 106 runs.
IPL 2021, Match 12: Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals (CSK vs RR) – CSK Predicted Playing XI
Ruturaj Gaikwad hasn’t started this IPL 2021 in a good way as he scored 5 runs in both matches. While he impressed in the late of the IPL 2020, he was not in the strong batting form in the recent domestic cricket despite scoring a century in a List A game.
Faf du Plessis
South African cricketer Faf du Plessis started this IPL 2021 with a duck. But in their second game against PBKS, while CSK had a very low target, Faf patiently scored 36 not out to guide his team to the safe victory. Faf is a very crucial member of CSK.
England cricketer Moeen Ali is currently the leading run-scorer for CSK in the early moment of this IPL 2021 as he has scored 82 runs who scored 36 and 46 runs respectively in this tournament. At the early of this tournament, Moeen has shown very positive commitment with the bat, who has also taken one wicket in this IPL season.
During the IPL 2020, CSK badly missed Suresh Raina, the second most run-scorer in the IPL history. In their first game of the IPL 2021, Raina scored 54 runs which brought huge confidence in him and his team. Though he scored just eight runs in their previous successful chasing, it will not affect his confidence.
While Ambati Rayudu was the second most run-scorer for CSK in the IPL 2020, he has disappointed in the early moment of the IPL 2021. After scoring 23 runs in their season opener, Rayudu couldn’t finish the last match where he scored a golden duck.
MS Dhoni (C & wk)
Captain MS Dhoni has started his journey in the IPL 2021 with a duck. While he hasn’t played many games since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, except the IPL 2020, Dhoni should come to bat in the upper position in this early moment of this tournament which can provide some good times for him to settle down.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has got very limited opportunities in the first two matches of this IPL 2021. In the second game, his brilliant throw ran out PBKS opener and skipper KL Rahul. While Jadeja scored 26 not out off 17 balls in their season opener, the left-arm spinner is still waiting for his first wicket of this season.
In recent times, England Sam Curran has put his name in the headlines for his batting. During CSK’s first match of the IPL 2021, Sam came to bat in the crucial death overs and he scored 34 off 15 balls that helped CSK to manage the challenging first innings total. As a left-arm pacer, while Sam has bowled five overs, he has taken one wicket.
Caribbean all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has taken two wickets in this early moment of the IPL 2021. Bravo is likely to take a major role with the ball in hand in this IPL season as his huge experience can be beneficial for CSK in the death overs.
Despite having some expensive bowling, Shardul Thakur has still recently impressed with his wicket-taking skills in the right moments. While he got two wickets in their first match of the IPL 2021, Thakur didn’t get a wicket in their previous game, who was the only CSK bowler to finish that game with an economy rate over 6 (4-0-35-0).
The right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar won the Player of the Match award during CSK’s first winning experience in the IPL 2021. In their last game, Deepak had bowling figures of 4-1-13-4. It can be a huge confidence booster for him.
