Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will now play their fifth match of this IPL 2021 this Sunday (25th April) afternoon when they will face the in-form Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
Though CSK lost their first match against Delhi Capitals (DC), they then beat Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
IPL 2021, Match 19: Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (CSK vs RCB) – CSK Predicted Playing XI
CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad struggled in the first three matches of this IPL 2021 where he scored 5, 5 and 10 runs respectively. But in the last game, he not only set up the strong start for CSK with the 115 runs opening partnership with Faf du Plessis, but he also scored 64 runs off 42 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes.
Faf du Plessis
South African cricketer Faf du Plessis is currently the leading run-scorer for CSK in this IPL 2021 as he has scored 164 runs in four games. While he started this tournament with a duck, he then scored a crucial 36 not out and 33 runs before scoring 95 not out off 60 balls (9 fours and 4 sixes) against KKR in the last game. Faf is currently in strong form with the bat.
England cricketer Moeen Ali has highly impressed with his all-round performances in this IPL 2021. With the bat, he has scored 133 runs in four innings as his scores in this tournament are 36, 46, 26 and 25 runs respectively. Moreover, the off-spinner has also picked up 4 wickets in three innings which is also very impressive because other spinners are really struggling at Wankhede Stadium.
The left-handed batsman Suresh Raina started the IPL 2021 with the knock of 54 runs. While he didn’t bat in the last game, his scores in the previous matches were 8 and 18 runs respectively. While the top orders are now performing very well, it will give him huge confidence.
In the first three innings of this IPL 2021, Ambati Rayudu scored 23, 0 and 27 runs respectively. The right-handed batsman needs to convert his starts into good scores. Before IPL 2021, Rayudu played a couple of good knocks in domestic cricket.
MS Dhoni (C & wk)
Captain MS Dhoni scored 18 and 17 runs respectively in the last two matches after he was bowled by Avesh Khan for a duck during their first match of the IPL 2021. But in the last game against KKR, Dhoni scored a crucial 17 off 8 balls (2 fours and only six) which was a good sign for his team. It is still believed that Dhoni should come to bat earlier.
As usual, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is busy playing strong roles in batting, bowling and fielding. Talking about his crucial roles for CSK in this IPL 2021, Jadeja scored 26 not out off 17 balls in their tournament opener, took two wickets (2/28) against Rajasthan Royals in their third match, superbly managed one run-out, and he has already picked up 7 catches including four catches against Rajasthan Royals.
England cricketer Sam Curran has also played some useful roles as an all-rounder for CSK in this early moment of the IPL 2021. In their season opener, Sam scored 34 off 15 balls. Also, the left-arm pacer has picked up 4 wickets in four matches of this tournament. Though he was really expensive (1/58) in the last game against KKR as he also conceded 30 runs in an over, he took the most crucial wicket of the match as he bowled Andre Russell.
Shardul Thakur has taken 3 wickets in four matches of this IPL 2021 where he is also very expensive (economy rate 11.27). But the team is hopeful of him as he was recently in strong wicket-taking form for the Indian team.
Deepak Chahar is currently in strong form as a pacer as he has taken 8 wickets in four matches of this IPL 2021. Though he didn’t pick a wicket in two matches of this tournament, he has claimed two four-wicket hauls where he provided strong starts for his team.
South African cricketer Lungi Ngidi played his first match of the IPL 2021 in their last game where he had bowling figures of 4-0-28-3 as he was totally in control with the ball in hand. Surely he has got a good start in this IPL season.
