Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has said that the sun has set for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021. After Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Rajasthan Royals even after changing their skipper, Chopra said that the team has changed the captain but not their fortunes. Sunrisers Hyderabad holds the last spot in the IPL 2021 points table at present.

Sunrisers Hyderabad changed their skipper David Warner before the match against Rajasthan Royals. The franchise promoted Kane Williamson as the new skipper for the team and also benched David Warner for the match. However, this did not yield any positive results as Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Rajasthan Royals by 55 runs.

The Sun Has Set For Sunrisers Hyderabad: Aakash Chopra

While reviewing the SRH vs RR match on his Youtube channel, Aakash Chopra said that the sun has set for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021.

“The sun has set for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their captain has changed but not their fortunes. They have won just one of their seven encounters. They changed the combination and played Nabi with Rashid.

“But they didn’t make him bowl at all and got very little batting as well because he came too low down. I mean it was as good as playing with three overseas players. Bhuvi was back but the form was missing for the other players,” Aakash Chopra said.

Chopra also said he was surprised at Kane Williamson’s bowling choices in the match against Rajasthan Royals.

“I was a little surprised at Kane Williamson’s bowling choices. He didn’t give bowling to Nabi at all or gave just the one over, finished Rashid by the 11th over. I was slightly stunned,” Chopra further said.

After the defeat against Punjab Kings, Hyderabad have lost 6 matches out of 7 in IPL 2021 so far. Their only victory came against Punjab Kings. Hyderabad as a team holds the last spot in the points table after half of the tournament has finished.

They are lagging behind in the points table and now have very narrow chances of making it to the playoffs. Hyderabad will lock horns with Mumbai Indians in their next match. The match will be played on May 4 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
