On Thursday (15th April), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) competed against each other at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai) during the seventh match of the IPL 2021.
After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson chose to bowl first. Rajasthan Royals bowlers bowled tightly as Delhi Capitals only managed to score 147/8 (20 overs) in the first innings. Among their top five batsmen, only captain Rishabh Pant managed to reach the double-digit score as he scored a crucial 51 off 32 balls (9 fours) before getting run out. Lalit Yadav and Tom Curran played scored some crucial runs of 20 and 21 runs respectively.
Among Rajasthan Royals bowlers, Jaydev Unadkat had bowling figures of 4-0-15-3 while Mustafizur Rahman had bowling figures of 4-0-29-2 and Chris Morris also got one wicket (3-0-27-1).
In reply, Rajasthan Royals struggled to chase the target but they ultimately chased down the target in 19.4 overs after losing seven wickets.
Delhi Capitals bowlers also got a good start as Rajasthan Royals were once struggling on 42/5. But David Miller and Rahul Tewatia set up the 48 runs partnership for the sixth wicket to handle that situation. While Tewatia was dismissed for 19 runs, in-form South African cricketer Miller scored 62 off 43 balls (7 fours and 2 sixes). Later, Chris Morris (36 not out off 18 balls) and Jaydev Unadkat (11 not out off 7 balls) brilliantly batted in the late moment and guided the team to their first win in this IPL season.
Among Delhi Capitals bowlers, Avesh Khan (3/32) got three wickets while Chris Woakes (2/22) and Kagiso Rabada (2/30) picked up two wickets each.
