IPL 2022 Mega Auction: 3 Big Players KKR Might Release. Despite the hurdles and challenges the COVID-19 pandemic posed before the world, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ensured the IPL 2021 was completed without much hindrance.

The tournament had to be halted in May owing to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in India and subsequently had to be moved to the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings won the IPL 2021 after a thumping win against Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the final on October 15.

For many of the players, IPL 2021 could be the last time they might have played for the respective franchises.

As it is said ‘ The Show Must Go On’ and so like the Indian Premier League, one of the richest leagues in the sporting world, is set to once again expand the tournament with two new teams.

BCCI had floated an Invitation to Tender (ITT) inviting bids for owning two new teams to be inducted in IPL. Interested parties could buy the tender for a non-refundable ₹110 lakh plus taxes till October 5.

Hence IPL 2022 will see most of the players go under the auctions table as BCCI has planned a mega auction where each team will be able to retain a maximum of three players.

Kolkata Knight Riders had a great comeback in the second leg of IPL 2021 from winning just two games out of seven in India to making it to the IPL finals was a great jounrey to follow.

Karthik helped them to reach playoffs in his first season as captain but couldn’t make it to the final as they were dished out by SRH in Qualifier 2.

Karthik hasn’t been able to regularly fire with the bat scoring just 223 runs at the strike rate of 131.17.

Cummins picked 21 wickets in his second stint with KKR but was not available for the UAE leg in this season as he wanted to be with his wife for the birth of their child.
