IPL 2022: Ravindra Jadeja Is Feeling The Captaincy Pressure, Says Aakash Chopra

Ravindra Jadeja has not been in the best of forms with the bat in the ongoing season of the IPL and former India opener, Aakash Chopra Feels it’s because the pressure of captaincy has taken a toll on him.
In Jadeja’s captaincy so far Chennai Super Kings has managed to win only 2 games out of the 7 they have played. In these 7 games, Jadeja has only scored 91 runs at a strike rate of just around 120.
If Jadeja Doesn’t Find Form, Things Would Get Difficult For CSK: Aakash Chopra
Chopra also felt that if Jadeja doesn’t find a form with the bat, things might become difficult for the franchise going ahead in the tournament.
“Jadeja is struggling with the bat, which is not a good sign. It is very important for him to perform with the willow because, if he keeps failing in the same manner, things will get extremely tough for the Chennai Super Kings. The pressure of captaincy is clearly showing on him,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
Jadeja struggled with his fielding in the last game as well as he dropped easy catches. Luckily for him and side, those dropped chances did not cost his team.
Chopra also believes that Ruturaj Gaikwad who hasn’t got going this season might be able to get back to form against Punjab Kings. “Ruturaj Gaikwad has done well in only one match.
“But there are great chances of him succeeding in this match because the opposition has the likes of Vaibhav Arora. Of course, Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep are there, but the bowling is strictly okay. Gaikwad didn’t score last time against Punjab, but things could be different this time,” he opined.
Chopra also said that the likes of Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu and Shivam Dube are in good form so CSK should do well against PBKS when they play them on Monday.
