IPL 2021 commences next month on April 9, 2021, with the first match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both the teams will collide against each other at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With IPL 2021, the tournament returns to India after a gap of nearly two years. However, spectators will not be allowed to enter the stadiums in IPL 2021 due to Covid-19 concerns.

IPL 2008- Shreevats Goswami

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Shreevats Goswami won the emerging player of the year award in IPL 2008. Shreevats Goswami is a wicket-keeper batsman. He bats left-handed. In IPL 2008, he played 4 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore and scored 82 runs. This also included one fifty. Goswami played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2009 and IPL 2010 too.

IPL 2009- Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma was the winner of the emerging player award in IPL 2009. Rohit Sharma was part of Deccan Chargers in the tournament. Rohit Sharma played 16 matches in IPL 2009 and scored 362 runs. He also scored a fifty. Sharma was also great with the ball. He also scalped 11 wickets from 16 matches in the same season. Due to Rohit Sharma’s brilliant all-rounder performance, he was awarded emerging player of the year in IPL 2009.

IPL 2010- Saurabh Tiwary

Saurabh Tiwary was conferred with the emerging player of the year award in IPL 2010. Saurabh Tiwary was part of the Mumbai Indians in the tournament. The left-handed batsman smashed 419 runs in 16 matches along with 3 half-centuries. He was given the emerging player of the year award for his excellent batting performance.

IPL 2011- Iqbal Abdulla

In 16 matches, the right-handed batsman Mandeep Singh scored 432 runs along with 2 half-centuries. Hence, Mandeep Singh was awarded emerging player of the year for his commendable batting in the tournament.

The right-handed batsman Shreyas Iyer played 14 matches in the tournament and scored 439 runs. He also smashed 4 half-centuries in the tournament. For his magnificent batting performance, Shreyas Iyer was awarded an emerging player for the year in IPL 2015.

IPL 2016- Mustafizur Rahman

Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman was awarded emerging player of the year in IPL 2016. Mustafizur Rahman played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2016. He scalped 17 wickets in 16 matches. He also had a great economy of 6.90 throughout the season.
