IRE vs IND Head to Head Records in T20Is – 1st T20I, India Tour Of Ireland 2023. India and Ireland go head to head in a three-match IRE vs IND T20I series. All three matches will be played in Dublin. The first T20I will be played on August 18 with the match starting from 7.30 pm IST. This is India’s second trip to Ireland in two years.
India toured Ireland for a two-match T20I series in 2022 under Hardik Pandya’a captaincy. The Men in Blue won the series 2-0. This time around, Jasprit Bumrah is leading the side which is himself making a comeback to international cricket after almost a year. Prasidh Krishna is also making a comeback after an injury layoff.
Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma are the two new players added to the T20I squad for the series. Several players are making a comeback namely Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Avesh Khan are all making a comeback into the side. This series is also important for Sanju Samson after his poor performances against West Indies.
Ireland will be led by experienced batter Paul Stirling who took over T20I captaincy from Andrew Balbirnie. He is the most experienced player on the T20I side and has the most runs among all the batters. He is among the top five run-scorers in T20I cricket as well.
The likes of Andrew Balbirnie and Harry Tector are the other key batters in the lineup. With the ball, Josh Little with his recent IPL experience will be a key bowler for Ireland. Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, and Craig Young make up the pace bowling group.
Talking about head-to-head in T20Is, India and Ireland have played fie T20Is will all five matches won by India. Ireland are yet to win in T20Is and ODIs against the Men in Blue. Both teams have not played a Test match so far. The young Indian side coped up a lot of criticism for their T20I series loss against West Indies recently. Ireland can target India’s inexperience and vulnerability at the moment and go for a series win.
