Indian Test fast bowler Ishant Sharma is doubtful for the historic Test match against Afghanistan after suffering an injury in the County championship. The lanky fast bowler is plying on his trade for Sussex in the Royal One Day Cup.

However, Ishant had to miss his team’s match against Essex as he is suffering from an injury. In fact, the whereabouts of his injury is unknown.

Consequently, this is not a good news for the Indian Cricket as this injury might put a question mark over the participation of the pacer against Afghanistan.

Ishant doesn’t have much time up his sleeves as the historic Test match would be played from June 14 at Bengaluru. In fact, it is well known that the Indian Players need to undergo Yo-Yo Test for Afghanistan Test.

Ishant Sharma will like to recuperate on time.

Meanwhile, this is the second time that the Delhi fast bowler has suffered an injury in his County stint. Ishant had earlier hurt his shoulder when he had dived in the deep in the match against Gloucestershire last month.

However, Ishant was able to recuperate in time as he missed only a solitary contest. Thus, he was able to return back to action in the next match. Meanwhile, Ishant has thus far scalped eight wickets in the ongoing List A Royal One Day Cup.

The Indian speedster will like to recover in time to play the all-important Test Match. However, Cheteshwar Pujara and Varun Aaron are other Indian players who are currently playing in the County Championship.

All these players are playing in England to get acclimatised to the English conditions. Thus, this County stint will help these players when India will tour England in July.
