Just IN: BCCI Announces Schedule For India's 5-Match Home T20I Series Against South Africa

The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the schedule along with the venues for India’s 5 match home T20 International series against South Africa.
The series is scheduled to be played right after the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL 2022).

First T20I Between India & South Africa To Be Played On 9th June In New Delhi
The 5-match T20 series is scheduled to begin on 9th June in the National capital, New Delhi. Then the series moves to Cuttack for the 2nd T20I. The match will be played on 12th June.
Vizag will host the 3rd T20I on 14th June, followed by T20Is in Rajkot and Benglaru on 17th and 19 June respectively.
This will be the first time both sides will play in a 5 match T20 series.

Earlier this year India toured South Africa for a 3 Test match test series and as many ODIs. After winning the first test, they lost all the games on the tour on what was Rahul Dravid’s first overseas assignment as becoming the full-time head coach.
Rohit Sharma is expected to lead the side against South Africa who was recently named as the all format, full-time captain after former captain Virat Kohli stepped aside from the role in all formats of the game.
Rohit Sharma since becoming the full-time captain has not lost a single match in any format. It includes series wins against the West Indies, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

The fans would want that the same streak continues against South Africa as well.
The series may see selectors giving chances to some young and fringe players as they look to build a side for the T20 World Cup later this year in Australia.
India is scheduled to tour Ireland for a two-match T20 series after the South Series gets over.
