Justin Langer Heaps Praise On Mitchell Starc, Feels He Is The Best White Ball Bowler In The World

Australian coach Justin Langer felt that the speedster Mitchell Starc is the best white-ball bowler in the world and lauded the left-arm quick for his excellent performance against West Indies. Starc, who was struggling to find form at the start of the T20 series against West Indies found his rhythm going after few games.

He gained a lot of confidence back after his phenomenal final over in the 4th T20 international against West Indies defending 10 runs against someone like Andre Russell. He bowled yorkers after yorkers and showed why he is one of the best in the business. He continued his good form into the ODI series taking 11 wickets in 3 games at an average of 10.63.

Justin Langer Reckons Starc and Hazlewood’s Combination Is A Real Plus

Justin Langer felt that Mitchell Starc is the best when it comes to limited-overs cricket for bowling those inswingers in the powerplay and backing it up with some good yorkers at the back end of the innings. He was delighted to have him in the team and added that Starc’s combination alongside Hazlewood is a big plus to the team.

“I think Mitchell Starc is the best white ball bowler in the world. He bowls up front, swings the ball. He is the best bowler at the death in the world. He is great to have in our team. The combination with him and Josh Hazlewood is a real plus for us.” Langer said ahead of Australia’s flight to Bangladesh.

Justin Langer Disappointed To Lose The T20 Series

Justin Langer reckoned he knew about West Indies being a tough T20 side to beat and was disappointed to lose the T20 series 1-4. He saw the positive aspect of the loss coming in early ahead of the T20 Worldcup giving a lot of time to work on it and was delighted with the ODI series win against the same side.

“I knew the T20s were going to be tough, particularly against the West Indies who are as good anyone in the world in T20 cricket”

“It was disappointing to lose that series but a lot came out of it for us in our build-up to the World Cup. To win this one-day series is a great reward for all the hard work the boys have been doing and it is nice to see them being rewarded for that and some smiles on their faces yesterday” He added

Australia won the ODI series 2-1 and Mitchell Starc was adjudged the man of the series for his brilliance.
