South African Speedster Kagiso Rabada feels that relentless hard work had helped him to become the third-fastest bowler to reach 200 wickets and there isn’t any magic to it. Rabada, who is leading the current bowling pack of South Africa has broken a lot of records in the process of achieving the landmark of 200 Test wickets. Kagiso Rabada took 8154 balls to achieve the feat while the fastest is held by Waqar Younis of 7725 balls.

Rabada has also become the eighth South African to reach 200 Test wickets. The 25-year-old is the fourth-youngest bowler ever to reach the 200-wicket landmark in the red-ball format. Rabada made his debut five years back and has grown in leaps and bounds — to become one of the best fast bowlers in the world right now. He also has been outstanding in the IPL for the last two years grabbing the purple cap this year with 30 wickets in 17 games.

Kagiso Rabada Analysing His Own Game

Kagiso Rabada mentioned how he has worked hard to analyze his game and spent the time to improve on it. He says there is no magic to getting 200 Test wickets and it isn’t so easy. He felt proud to be among the biggest legends in world cricket and also he admitted that he never has planned on so much statistics. He also told about the difficulties to overcome some defects and constant repetition to perfect the flaws in his game.

“It’s a massive feat to be included among a list of such names. When you start playing you don’t ever think you will be on such a list and have such statistics,”  Kagiso Rabada told ESPN Cricinfo

“I don’t think there is a magic answer. It’s just hard work and spending time on your craft and seeing where you can get better and analysing it. It hasn’t all been easy.”

“You find yourself trying to perfect something that might seem so simple but it’s constant repetition and hours and hours of work. It’s being relentless with that and trying to see how much better you can get and finding ways. It’s hard and relentless work,” Kagiso Rabada added.

South Africa Struggling Against Pakistan Spinners

South Africa started the day with a 29 run lead with a loss of four wickets in their second innings. Keshav Maharaj and the skipper Quinton De Kock were dismissed early while the good work done by Markram and Rassie van der Dussen wasn’t helped by the remaining batsmen and South Africa ended up with a total of 245. The target for Pakistan batsmen was 88 to win the game and it looks tough for South Africa from here on.
