Meg Lanning, the captain of Australia, has supplanted Beth Mooney as the world’s top-ranked T20I batter in the most recent MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings.

On the strength of her outstanding tri-series against Pakistan and Ireland, Lanning surged one spot to unseat Mooney at the top of the T20I list when the ICC announced its most recent set of women’s rankings on Tuesday.

Lanning finished the series with 113 runs from two innings to lead her nation in the tournament. Her best performance came when she hit a quickfire 74 from just 49 deliveries against the Irish in Bready.

Mooney only scored nine runs in the same match, and it was crucial in the rankings’ reorganisation because Lanning jumped a total of 10 rating points to overtake her left-handed teammate.

Other Movements In The ICC Rankings

Tahlia McGrath, a fellow Australian, made a significant jump in the most recent batter rankings as well. The gifted 26-year-old rose 15 spots to 13th overall as a result of her own fifty against Ireland.

Despite the Proteas’ disheartening series loss to England away from home, South Africa’s trio of Laura Wolvaardt (14th), Anne Bosch (21st), and Tazmin Brits (equal 24th) all made significant progress on the list for batters.

As far as bowler rankings are concerned, with five wickets against SA, Katherine Brunt moved up four spots to third place among bowlers, behind compatriots Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn of England.

While her exploits with the bat in the series finale saw the 23-year-old rise four ranks to 16th on the list for all-rounders, Ecclestone also grabbed five wickets for the series to further increase her lead at the top of the T20I bowling rankings.

Jess Jonassen, an Australian spinner, moves up four spots to sixth place on the list of bowlers, while Ashleigh Gardner, another teammate, moves up three spaces to seventh place among all-rounders.
