Mohammad Amir responded to Rohit Sharma’s old remarks when the latter said that he is not a world-class bowler. During Asia Cup 2016, the Indian skipper Sharma said that Amir still needed to perform in order to be considered a world-class bowler.

Mohammad Amir is a Pakistani cricketer who is a left-arm pacer. He was banned for five years in 2010 due to match-fixing. Later, he made a comeback to the team in 2015. In 2020, Amir announced his retirement from international cricket.

I Don’t Take Rohit Sharma’s Statement Seriously: Mohammad Amir

Responding to the statement to a local media channel, Mohammad Amir said that one cannot be everyone’s favourite. Amir also said that he doesn’t Rohit Sharma’s statements seriously as everyone has his own opinion.

“I don’t take Rohit Sharma’s statement seriously. Everyone has his own opinion and it is impossible that everyone regards me as a world-class bowler. There is nothing to be felt bad about it, and as a professional, we should not take such things in a negative way. You cannot be everyone’s favorite,” Amir said.

When asked whether he considers Rohit Sharma a world-class batsman, Amir said that there is no doubt that Sharma is a world-class batsman.

“No doubt he is a world-class batsman. I bowled well every time I faced Rohit and he struggled while facing me, still, I will call him a world-class player,” Amir said.

Mohammad Amir is credited with helping Pakistan to win ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 when he dismissed three top Indian batsmen with his deadly pace attack in the final match. Currently, Amir is seeking UK citizenship and has retired from international cricket.

During his international career for Pakistan, Amir played 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is. He scalped 119 wickets in Tests at an average of 30.48, 81 wickets in ODIs at an average of 29.63, and 59 wickets in T20Is at an average of 21.41.
