India have become a dominant team in Test cricket away from home as well, and the key reason behind this is the success of Indian pacers, who are capable enough to pick 20 wickets in a match.
Indian pace battery consists of Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Shardul Thakur and Umesh Yadav, and the pacers have performed consistently for the team in Test cricket.
Doesn’t look like Mohammed Siraj has been in the team for just 12 months – Shane Warne
The rise of 27-year-old pacer Siraj was the talking point in Indian cricket in 2021, he overtook Ishant Sharma to become India’s third pacer in Test cricket and is just behind Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.
Meanwhile, legendary Australian spinner Warne said it doesn’t look like Siraj has been in the Indian team for just 12 months. He also said that he is a huge fan of Siraj.
“Siraj is a great bowler. Doesn’t look like he has been in the team for just 12 months. But once he came into this side, he has done really. He looks like he has got a bit of fire about him, has those competitive juices flowing. I am a big fan,” Warne told Hindustan Times in an interaction conducted by Book My Show Stream.
In the 12 Test matches so far Siraj has bagged 36 wickets at an average of 29.64 and an economy rate of 3.09.
