Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and captain MS Dhoni enjoy a wonderful camaraderie. Ravindra Jadeja, who debuted in international cricket under MS Dhoni and now developed into one of the most valuable cricketers for India, has often credited the former Indian captain for transforming him as such. Meanwhile, like most of the fans, Dhoni is also a fan of Jadeja’s sword celebration and went on to imitate the same. The all-rounder has responded to the same.

During a practice session of the Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni, who sat beside Robin Uthappa, attempted Ravindra Jadeja’s sword celebration without a bat in his hand. Jadeja has performed the same on several occasions and does so when he strucks a half-century or reaches triple figures. Chennai Super Kings’ official Instagram handle posted the video and Ravindra Jadeja responded to the same by commenting “Should try with the bat”.

Speaking of their performances in IPL 2021, Ravindra Jadeja played an integral role in Chennai Super Kings’ resurrection this year. The three-time champions could not reach the playoffs for the first time last year, finishing the tournament in the seventh position. However, they performed incredibly well this year, ending the shortened edition in the second spot. They picked up five wins in seven games.

Ravindra Jadeja scored 162 runs in seven matches, keeping a strike rate of 161.73 and took six wickets at 26.83. The Saurashtra all-rounder redefined power-hitting by smashing Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Harshal Patel for 37 runs in the 20th over of the innings. On the other hand, MS Dhoni’s batting ability might have reduced; however, he remains a masterful tactician and marshalled his troops exceptionally well.
