Mushfiqur Rahim will be unavailable for the West Indies tour: Bangladesh team director
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Rahim has already informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) about his unavailability for the West Indies tour.
The 34-year-old intends to go on a pilgrimage during that period and thus will miss all three series. Bangladesh team director Khaled Mahmud confirmed Rahim’s absence in the West Indies tour.
“Yes, he( Mushfiqur Rahim) will be unavailable in the West Indies tour as he wishes to perform his Hajj (in the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia),” Mahmud told Cricbuzz on Friday (May 20).

Rahim is currently playing for Bangladesh in the ongoing two-match Test series against Sri Lanka at home.
In the first Test in Chattogram, Rahim became the first Bangladesh player to score 5000 Test runs. He scored 105, with the help of just four boundaries, as Bangladesh took a lead of 68 in the first innings.
The match ended in a draw affair after Sri Lanka posted 260/6 on the final day. Senior player Angelo Mathews was named player of the match for sparkling 199.
Nayeem Hasan ruled out of the second Test
Bangladesh off-spinner Nayeem Hasan, who picked six wickets for 105 in the first innings, has been ruled out of the second Test due to a finger injury.

“Nayeem is certainly ruled out from the second Test against Sri Lanka as he fractured his finger,” Bangladesh team physician Debashish Chowdhury said.
“He will need at least three to four weeks to recover and taking that into consideration it looks he is unlikely to make in the West Indies Test squad,” the physician added.
Nayeem’s injury comes after pace bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam suffered various injuries, that ruled them out of the Sri Lanka Tests.
The second Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will start on May 23 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
