England and Netherlands go head to head in the second ODI of the three-match series at the VRA Cricket Ground, Amstelveen on June 19, Sunday. England won the first match by 232 runs to gain a 1-0 lead in the series.
Jos Buttler and co-scored 498/4, the highest ODI total ever in the first game. There were a total of 36 fours and 26 sixes hit by the England batsmen who scored runs for fun. Buttler scored 162 off just 70 balls while Phil Salt and Dawid Malan scored 122 and 125 respectively.
Philippe Boissevain conceded 108 runs from his spell while three other bowlers conceded over 80 runs in their spell. The England batters decimated the Netherlands bowlers annd almost killed the game in the first innings. With the bat, they reached as far as 266 before being bowled out.
Heading into the second game, more of the same can be expected from the England batters who are getting some nice match-practice before the India series next month. The pitch has played out totally flat in the first game with nothing in it for the bowlers. The Netherlands bowlers can have another tough day in the office if they do not get the opponent batters out early especially Buttler.
