England keeper-battler Jos Buttler credited IPL 2022 for his way after an unbeaten 162 against the Netherlands in the first ODI on Friday, June 17. The right-handed batsman also acknowledged that he enjoys his responsibility in one-day cricket and credited England’s progress to their flexibility.
Buttler ended up going sleds and tweezers on the Dutch bowlers. He blasted 14 sixes in a ruthless 70-ball 162 as England managed to amass a record-breaking 498-4 in 50 overs. He rightly deserved to win the ‘Player of the Match’ award as England won by 232 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the three-game series.

After the match, the wicketkeeper admitted that excellence in IPL 2022 had given him a lot of confidence and energized him to do well. The 31-year-old expressed relief from being relieved of bio-bubbles and seeing things function normally. According to ESPN Cricinfo, he stated:

“My IPL encounter could not have gone any better. I thoroughly enjoyed it, which offers several trusts. Coming here, I felt in good spirits: I arrived with a huge incentive and freshness, which I believe is crucial.”
‘We got off to a fantastic start with Salt and Malan: Jos Buttler
The right-handed batter admitted that adaptability is one of England’s strongest points and appears to believe his promotion was due to another hot start. He continued:
“When we have gotten off to a good start in the past, I have been pushed up to No. 4, and today we got off to a fantastic start with Salt and Malan. We are a pretty adaptable group, and if that is what they want to do on the day, we will do it. I enjoy playing middle-order in one-day cricket, so I am content with the role I have been given.”

Buttler, who batted at No. 4, formed massive and quick partnerships with Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone. He added 184 in 90 deliveries with Malan, then an unbeaten 91 off 32 with Livingstone.
