Nepal Cricket Team Skipper Sandeep Lamichhane Faces A Rape Charge From A Minor

Sandeep Lamichhane, the captain of the Nepal cricket team, is currently at the centre of a fierce discussion over claims that he raped a minor. The victim, who was 17 years old, reported the assault to the authorities after addressing the famous cricketer at the Kathmandu police station.

Lamichhane made his international debut for the Delhi Capitals franchise in 2018, becoming the first player from his country to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

As per Kathmandu police, a 17-year-old girl has filed a complaint alleging that Nepal’s national cricket team captain, Lamichhane, raped her twice.

Lamichhane has not yet released a statement while playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

According to the chief of the Kathmandu District Police Range, Bharat Bahadur Bohora, the police circle in the city of Gaushala filed the complaint on Wednesday.

“The police are sensitive to such serious incidents. We have made the supposed survivor undergo a health checkup and launched an investigation,” says Rabindra Prasad Dhanuk, the Kathmandu Valley Police Office chief.

Sandeep Lamichhane asked Minor to join him on a trip to Bhaktapur:

The juvenile claims she was a fan of the cricketer and used to connect with him over WhatsApp and Snapchat. She claims Lamichhane requested the meeting.

According to police, on the eve of the Nepal cricket team’s departure to Kenya on September 22, Sandeep Lamichhane asked her to join him on a trip to Bhaktapur, and she accepted. Because Lamichhane remained, the child was unable to return to her hostel in Madhya Baneshwar at night.

According to the complaint, when the hostel closed at 8 p.m., the youngster was forced to spend the night with the 25-year-old superstar at a hotel in Kathmandu’s Pingalasthan.
