Bangladesh face New Zealand in a must-win match in Christchurch on October 12. The Tigers have lost both their games in the series so far and have two games remaining. They need to win both to make a case for playing the final.

New Zealand, on the other hand, have played three and won two. They won their previous match against Pakistan after losing to them in the previous match. The Kiwis displayed a clinical performance and outplayed the Men in Green in the fourth T20I. Pakistan scored a paltry 130 and New Zealand chased the score down inside 17 overs.

“An improvement again from the last game, nice to adjust to the conditions, clinical with the ball and we used the big side and the wind as well. Finn broke the back of the chase by being super-aggressive and Devon complemented him nicely. We thought it might suit it, we were limited with our other seam bowling options at the moment as we make sure to look after them through this period which is pretty hectic.”

It’s great that there’s a number of players in different roles, on this surface we want to address what’s in front of us and we did that pretty well” said NZ skipper Kane Williamson.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, needs to raise their game heading into the T20 World Cup. They have these two games to fine-tune their performance and identify their playing combination. They have issues with the availability of senior players within the squad. Shakib Al Hasan who skipped the series against UAE is back to lead them in this series and in the T20 World Cup in Australia.
