England Cricket Team had a terrific Day 3 against New Zealand. The visitors posted a target of 394 runs which was a team effort from the batting unit. In response, England’s pacers created havoc as they reduced New Zealand to 63-5. Stuart Broad was the wrecker in chief where he took 4 scalps in his 10 overs and gave away 21 runs.

New Zealand bowlers were clueless against Stuart Broad and it didn’t look like he was away from the game for months. Broad had missed Pakistan Test Series. The pacer bowled 10 overs on the trot which is massive in this modern cricket where he bowled wicket to wicket.

Stuart Broad on Shane Warne- Glenn McGrath

Stuart Broad was having an interaction with BT Sport and was asked about breaking Shane Warne-Glenn McGrath’s record of  1,001 wickets and now Broad-Anderson’s tally has 1,005 wickets between them.

“New Zealand is a special country for us. Back in 2008 at Wellington, we came into the team together and to go past two heroes of mine growing up – McGrath and Warne – certainly we’re not in the category or quality of those two. They were absolutely heroic in what they did for the game. But just to be up there with those two and to have taken the amount of wickets as I have with Jimmy,” said Stuart Broad.

Stuart Broad on James Anderson

Stuart Broad was asked about how does it feel to bowl with James Anderson.

“I feel very lucky to have been born in the same era as Jimmy because without him, I wouldn’t have been able to be at the other end taking wickets in the partnership that we’ve had. I’ve learnt so much from him throughout my career and he’s probably the reason I’m still going at 36. He’s a great leader to follow,” said Stuart Broad.

New Zealand has a stern task ahead of them as chasing another 331 runs won’t be easy with only 5 wickets in hand. There’s a lot of time left in the Test match as the hosts should take session by session. All eyes would be on Daryl Mitchell as the right-handed batter has a golden chance to make a case for himself.
