Cricket stadiums in New Zealand often witness high winds. However, the winds during NZ vs SL 2nd Test were so powerful that they drifted the ball on the pitch at Basin Reserve Stadium in Wellington. A video has surfaced on social media in which Michael Bracewell’s ball gets diverted due to strong winds during the match.
New Zealand and Sri Lanka Test series ended with the home team claiming a 2-0 clean sweep in the series. While The home team Kiwis won the 1st Test by 2 wickets in a close encounter, they won the 2nd Test quite convincingly.

Other than New Zealand’s brilliant performance in the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka, another thing that caught the attention of fans was the high winds affecting the play. The high winds at the stadium also forced the camera crew to leave the camera tower. Due to the event, the broadcasters were able to provide only a single view of the match.

Meanwhile, New Zealand outplayed Sri Lanka by an innings and 58 runs in the 2nd Test to grab a 2-0 series whitewash. Kiwis posted a mammoth total of 580-4 (d) in 1st innings. Later, they bowled out Sri Lanka for 164 and 358 in both innings to grab a huge victory in the match.
