England bowler Brydon Carse could have been part of India vs England 3rd Test at Headingley but his bad luck forced him to miss his potential Test debut for England. The Durham pacer contacted covid-19 recently due to which he was not considered for the England squad for the Test series against India.

In the absence of crucial England bowlers like Jofra Archer, Chris Broad, Mark Wood, as well as all-rounder Ben Stokes from the ongoing 3rd Test, Brydon Chase would have surely made his Test debut for England. Stokes ruled himself out of the series while Jofra Archer has been ruled out from playing for the entire 2021 year due to an elbow injury.

Chris Broad was ruled out after India vs England 1st Test due to injury. Mark Wood has been ruled out of the 3rd Test due to a shoulder issue but might return in the next game.

Brydon Carse Executed Great Bowling Show Against Pakistan

Brydon Carse executed an impressive bowling show in the ODI series against Pakistan earlier in July this year. In 3 games, the right-arm pacer scalped 6 wickets at an average of 22.67 to finish as the 2nd highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Later, he was signed up by  Northern Superchargers for England’s domestic T20 tournament The Hundred.

Towards the end of The Hundred tournament, Brydon Carse contacted covid-19.  As per Daily Mail, the 26-year-old pacer would have been selected as a standby player in the England Test squad against India if he had not tested positive for covid. Carse hails from South Africa but shifted to England later and now plays for England cricket.
