PAK vs ENG: Babar Azam Becomes Pakistan's First Batsman To Score Two T20I Centuries, Here's How the World Reacted

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan combined for an astonishing 203-run undefeated opening stand to lead Pakistan to a 10-wicket victory over England in the second T20I.

Azam was at his best on Thursday night, scoring 110 not out off 66 balls to lead Pakistan to a 10-wicket triumph against England in the second T20I of the seven-match series.

Babar scored at the National Stadium in Karachi, hitting 11 fours and five sixes during the game. Babar also became the first Pakistani player to score two T20I centuries as a result of the innings. With five more matches left in the T20I series, Pakistan thrashed England by 10 wickets to tie the series at one all.

In the second T20I of the series against England, Pakistan’s opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan put on an undefeated 203-run stand to lead the team to a 10-wicket triumph in Karachi. Babar played a magnanimous inning, hitting an undefeated 110 off 66 deliveries, while Rizwan smashed 88* off 51 balls in a chase masterclass at the National Stadium.

While Babar made a century, his opening partner Mohammad Rizwan made an undefeated 88 off 51 deliveries. The pair put on an undefeated partnership of 203 runs for the first wicket, beating their previous mark of 197 to set a new global record for the highest partnership in a T20I chase. It is also the fifth-highest partnership in T20Is for any wicket.

Talking more about the game, Moeen Ali’s 55 not out and Ben Duckett’s 43 helped England post 199/5 in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan reached home with 3 balls to spare.

The victory also ended Pakistan’s three-game losing streak, which began with the Asia Cup.

In the recently finished Asia Cup, Pakistan had suffered two straight defeats to Sri Lanka, one of which included a 23-run loss in the championship game.

On September 23, Pakistan and England square off in the third T20I at the same location.
