Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance during the third Test match against England at Karachi’s National Stadium. The Men in Green lost by an eight-wicket margin to put an end to the three-match series, which the guests won 3-0.

At the end of Day 3, England had eight wickets left and needed 167 runs to win. They were only 55 runs short of their goal. Within the first hour of the morning session on Day 4, they completed the run-chase without losing any additional wickets, winning the third Test by an eight-wicket margin. This is the first time Pakistan has been thoroughly defeated at home in a Test match.

Babar also holds the unfortunate distinction of becoming the first Pakistani skipper to lose four home Test matches in a calendar year.

Babar noted at the post-game presentation that despite the modest series loss, there were some positives to take away: “Disappointing series as a team. We weren’t strong enough to fight back, but England deserves credit as well. They performed admirably. We were defeated in the first innings of this game.”

“We were good in turns but not consistently. (Bowling) It’s difficult when your top bowlers aren’t in shape. The wording is a little different, but it’s the same idea” Babar Azam Added.

Captain Babar Azam is under a lot of pressure:

Pakistan’s impressive performances at the 2022 Asia Cup and T20 World Cup show that they are among the top white-ball sides in the world, but the same cannot be said for their Test team.

Pakistan has been on the back foot against England’s aggressive approach due to everything from the pitches to occasionally awful cricket and hasn’t been able to recover from it.

Their top pacers’ absence undoubtedly had an effect, and Azhar Ali’s retirement has left a significant gap in the batting order. Even though the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently supported Babar, another home series defeat could be difficult to bounce back from.
