PAK vs ENG: England's Predicted Playing XI Against Pakistan, England Tour Of Pakistan 2022, 1st T20I

Pakistan host England for a seven-match T20I series starting with the first game in Karachi on September 20. The first four games will be played in Karachi and the final three in Lahore. This is England’s first trip to Pakistan in 17 years.

Pakistan last visited England in 2021 playing a three-match ODI and T20I series. England won in both the formats. The ECB officials has sent in their best wishes to the touring side which has already reached Karachi for the first game.

“The return of our men’s Test team to Pakistan for the first time since 2005 will be a historic occasion. The opportunity to play Test cricket in front of passionate cricket-lovers in Pakistan after such a long time is something to be cherished. We have been working closely with the PCB over recent months and I am grateful to them for everything they have done, and continue to do, to make our Test and T20 tours a mouth-watering prospect for all involved” said Clare Connor, ECB’s Interim Chief Executive Officer.

Meanwhile, the side led by Jos Buttler has a few rookie cricketers. Names like Jason Roy and Jony Bairstow are not a part of the T20I series. Alex Hales has made a comeback to the T20I side. He played his last T20I in 2019. He has prior experience of playing in the PSL. Meanwhile, in this article, we take a look at England’s possible playing XI for the first T20I against Pakistan.

Jos Buttler (C/WK)

Buttler will open the batting, He is the leader of the side and perhaps the most destructive T20I batter of the modern era. His leadership skills will be tested in the series.

Alex Hales

Hales will open the batting with Buttler. He has played 60 T20Is for England and is making a comeback in the side. He is also a part of England’s T20 World Cup squad.

Dawid Malan

The former number one-ranked T20I batter will slot in at number three. He has been a solid number three option for England. Malan is also a part of England’s T20 World Cup squad.

Ben Duckett

Duckett has also received a call back into England’s T20I squad. He made his T20I debut against Pakistan back in 2019.

Moeen Ali

The England all-rounder will slot in at five. He will be Buttler’s deputy in the series as well. He is picked in England’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad as well.

Sam Curran

David Willey

Willey is another left-arm swing bowler. He is also handy with the bat and can contribute in the lower order.

Chris Woakes

Woakes is another all-rounder in the lineup. He is a right-arm seamer and a handy batter lower down the order.

Reece Topley

Topley is a quality bowler who has a lot of change of pace ad depends on his variation. He bowls very well to both left and right-handers.

Liam Dawson

Dawson is the left-am spinner in this lineup. He is amongst the reserves in England’s T20 World Cup squad.

Adil Rashid

Rashid completes England’s likely playing XI for the first T20I against Pakistan. He is the specialist leggie in the lineup.
